The company was founded in 1952 as an offshoot of Colorado Saddlery when demand for their leather gun holsters outgrew the capacity of their original Denver saddle shop.
After being sold to outside ownership in the late 1970s, Hunter Company was reunited with Colorado Saddlery in February 2019, bringing together two legendary leather manufacturers under one roof.
